International Mentoring Day – UK Mentor Meetup

Our first London-based mentor meetup took place on 17 January, celebrating International Mentoring Day. It was a really meaningful way to mark the occasion. We took the time to reflect on our experiences as mentors, what first drew us to social change, and the impact we can have when we invest in young people and in one another.

The share experience in the room was great with some mentors on their 5th mentorship and others at the start of their first. The conversation was thoughtful, honest, and energising, reminding us that mentorship is as much about listening and learning as it is about giving.

It was also a wonderful opportunity to connect in person, build a sense of community, and offer peer support in a space that felt open and encouraging. We are excited to create more of these moment and make these meetups a regular part of our mentorship community. A huge thank you to Fair Shot Cafe for so generously hosting us and creating such a welcoming environment. We’re looking forward to future collaborations.

If you can’t wait forus to plan the next mentor meetup, you can take charge yourself! Contact Colleen Pinto to get started.
